A holiday at last

2008 was a busy year for us.  We bought a house just outside York in November 2007 and Anne had moved up to start her job at the same time.  Chris was still commuting regularly to London throughout 2008 and was desperate to get a job up North so that he could spend more time with Anne and at home!

It got to the stage where we both decided that a holiday was needed and we booked to go to Egypt for two weeks in December.  Chris had been there before but it was the first time for Anne and she was a littlye bit apprehensive about the "tummy" situation.

As it transpired Chris got a job in York in September and both Chris and Anne looked forward to their break in December.

Baggage allowance

As always we had a bit of a to do with the baggage allowance.  Chris was allowed an additional 5kgs (wow!) for his diving equipment but there was some confusion over our standard allowance.  Some of the documentation said 20kgs and other documents said 25kgs (did this include our hand luggage allowance?).  The airline confirmed 20kgs per person but we were still unsure.

Anyway, we managed to get our luggage down to the right to weights (Chris did not take any clothes but Anne seemed to have clothes for two!).

As it transpired we did have a standard allowance of 25kgs each as we were part of Thomson Platinum arrangements but this had not been made very clear to us.  Ho hum - we got there without additional luggage charges.
