3 December - 16 December 2006 (13 days)

Thursday 14 December
Time to leave Krabi and fly back to Bangkok.  Back to the tailors for another fitting.  Anne is not happy about one of her blouses so we have to go back again tomorrow to see the Manager!!!

Wednesday 13 December
Our last full day in Krabi - oh no!!!  Another day in the sun for both us.

Tuesday 12 December
Chris has had enough of sunbathing and went to dive.  Guess what Anne did??

Monday 11 December
Both of us chilled by the pool. Its a hard life.

Sunday 10 December
Chris decided to join Anne by the pool but couldn't stand the heat.  Went to see Lara (the elephant again.  Chris played football with her and got to swim with her in the sea  - check out the pics.

Ventured into Ao Nang in the evening by the resorts 'taxi' (open top lorry).  To Chris's horror Anne managed to do even more shopping, her excuse being 'we will need it when we move'.  In the meantime it will be no doubt live in her parents attic along with all the other purchases she cannot resist in the Bentalls sale.

Saturday 9 December
Much the same as yesterday.

The diving was absolutely fantastic - Hin Daeng and Hin Muang.  Chris saw his first manta ray which was an awesome sight followed by his first leopard shark.  How very exciting!

Friday 8 December
Chris went diving and Anne sunbathed.  Bit of rain this afternoon which did not best please Anne.

Thursday 7 December
Relaxed in the sun.... even Chris!!!  What a day.

Wednesday 6 December
Time to fly to Krabi for some last minute sunshine.  Only a 1 hour flight.  Arrived mid afternoon - even Anne is moaning about the heat.  Got settled into our room and then decided to move rooms!!!  The resort where we are staying is beautiful.

In the afternoon we walked along the beach and ran into an elephant - literally!! There is an elephant that "lives" at the Sheraton hotel just along the beach and every day at 3pm they bring it onto the beach so people can feed it and swim with it.  How cool!!

Very chilled evening consisting of drinks on the beach.

Tuesday 5 December
Everone in Bangkok where's a yellow top - what is going on?  After a while we discovred that is was the Kings 60th Anniversary and for a year people will wear yellow tops to mark the ocasion.

Before Chris knew what was happeing Anne had hailed a cab and we were going shopping!!! Anne has yet to master the art of bartering - the seller started the bartering at 200 baht and Anne offered 300!!!!  We even had to buy another huge bag to ensure our purchases could get back to blightey.  Off to the tailors again for our second fitting and then to the English bar in our hotel.  It was described as a typical Enlish pub - but this one had silver service, attentive table service but the prices were English!

Monday 4 December (Singapore!)
Anne has us up nice and early - she had her sights set on shopping down Orchard Road.  But not before Chris had his free breakie!!  What a choice- full English, curries, rice, noodles, sushi, every fruit imaginable, never seen a breakfast spread like it.

Did a spot of shopping, but we had to be back at the hotel for 11:00am to catch the coach back to the airport. Got back to the hotel and their was a message on our phone saying that we would not be flying until 18:00. Anne was starting to panic - her plans for having her suit made were staring to falter. Chris got his assetive head on and managed to get a message to the Manager of Finnair to call us.  Low and behold he did acutally call us and told us that he had managed to get us on a Thai air flight which was leaving in 2 hours.  Result!!!!!  Feeling very jammy, and slightly guility for leaving the other 300 passengers in the hotel we set of to the airport.

17:00 hours today we landed in Bangkok.  We are staying in the Landmark hotel - Jo we cannot thank you enough for booking us into such an amazing hotel with a fab room.  When we arrived we went to check in but we were told that we were 'lifestyle guests' and we checked in on the 27th floor.  Got taken to the 27th floor, got asked to sat in very comfy chairs while they served us complimentary drinks and checked us in without us even been there.  How cool is that!!!!!

Anne's mission to find a tailor has already begun.  Within half an hour the hotel had got us an appointment at a tailors and a car was on its way to collect us.  3 hours later we are back at the hotel with almost a new wardrobe on order.

Just going to call room service, its been a long hard day folks.
